Air in the system, thermostat not working correctly.

check first that the coolant expansion tank is correctly filled to the marks and start it up while stationary without the expansion tank top off and check if the hoses get warm

when they start to do try to squeeze them gently and see if any air bubble out of the coolant tank

Just wondering if this resolved issues ! Have a 2015 grand cmax tdi and temp gauge will take ages to go up , then will drop down then only blow warm air out of one side of blowers in car then none . The header tank looks nearly empty when cold, but when I unscrew cap , it fills back up with a woosh. Could this be the thermostat ?? Any ideas and is this a hard fix ?? Thanks
