Can anyone tell me where the oil filter is on the 2.0 TDCi engine? It's time for an oil change and since I'm out of warranty, I'll be doing minor services myself as I can't bear to pay Ford £125 for £40 worth of parts and labour (and I don't trust local garages to put in the correct spec oil). No doubt i can find it if I look hard enough but any advance info would be helpful.

Many thanks.

You're right. It was easy. The hardest part was cutting down a 27mm spanner . I don't see how you could use a socket as there was no room to get a ratchet into the socket once the socket was fitted onto the plastic cap. Job done in 20 minutes.

I still don't see how you fitted a bar into the top of the 27mm socket. There was simply no room between the top of the socket and the plastic above the oil filter housing. I'll try and take a picture.

Did my 2011 2.0TCi. It was a mare. Needed to take apart the inlet assembly plastics at the front of the engine that sit over it. I cannot see why ford cant put an inspection hole in the plastics, as they are solid. I was tempted to drill one in!!! It appears ford have a special dogleg spanner tool to use. Who designs these engines I really dont know!!
I cut down a ring spanner to do the job.
