Hi,
I just bought a used grand c max 1.6 180ps '13 plate with 8k ish miles.
Apparently it is Ford Approved Used so it should have been checked over and serviced (there is a stamp in the service book so I guess they did service it). They also said it was checked by someone independent from Ford and also by RAC but I can find no evidence of this in the paperwork. Or indeed any paperwork to confirm it is in fact ford approved used (although I took a photo of the advert claiming this and have an email from dealer stating same).
Anyway they said the start stop didn't work on the test drive as battery too low and engine not warmed up. I checked online and in the manual and this seemed correct info. so I wasn't too worried.
However I then drove the car home a good 4hr/180 mile journey home and decided to try start/stop on my drive when I arrived home. I couldn't get it to work.
I put it in neutral and took my feet off pedals, handbrake was on (drive is sloped), air con off, headlights off. I don't think I've missed anything? Is there anything else I can try or should I ring the dealer? I'm in warranty, can I take it to a local dealer? I really hope so as it's a long drive back!
Many thanks for any advice.
