Hi, I have a Ford Grand C-max Tdci 2016 auto. 88kh 120bh. I'm having issues with my (Manual Sliding rear door)! on the dashboard Showing Rear Door light is Open not shut! I've takin to a mechanic! He Did put a scanner and the

# Diagnosed came as code: U0201: 87:-08 DDM Driver Door control module! #C !!

Fault code saying as:Missing Communication with Door Control Module! #C !


: The code indicates Driver Door (which is in this case referring to passenger Sliding Rear door) and so control module is Missing Communication with Door Control Module! #C !

The Door Control Module is near the speaker as code also indicates same side speaker not working! The speaker is also located next the Door Control Module!! And Also passenger cabin internal lights doesn't go off automatically when it is closed! Which could be all related to the Door control module unit!!

Also Front Hazard light ( orange bulb) stays on ! When I switch them off!!

So the Rear Sliding Door showing open, 1 Speaker and lights doesn't go off automatically!) As it should and also central locking wont work now!

When the rear door shows closed as normal then hazard light/tail light and central locking also works as normal!!!!

Takin to mechanic he has takin the trim off and said all the wires all ok! And Recommended to take it to an electrician!

After driving for few miles and closing the Rear Sliding door softly the dashboard door Light seems to gone off!! For now!!

It turned it's self off! And Shows Door is closed!!

That was yesterday night. I'll see if it stays off

So basically when the rear sliding door is being Used or Opened or when closing the (DDM) Driver Door Control Module or lock ! I gets light's on dashboard for the Rear Sliding Door lights comes on as open and not shut !!!

The mechanic said it could be the lock! Which he didn't have time to check yesterday!

I don't believe it's the lock! I believe it is The door module!! Or even lose connection or circuit board malfunction!! It could be lock aswell unsure!

as the code indicates electrical problems because all door locks and opens windows and window function normally. But the speaker and internal lights has been affected!!

Can You give me advice what could be likely problems!

Before mechanic even takin the Door trim off the dashboard light wont go off! It only when the mechanic fiddle around with the door trim the Door light seems to have gone off intermittently for now!! ??

Hi, I had it repaired last year just the update.

It was the driver-side sliding door lock or latch. The cost of parts from eBay Ford (RRP £246) was a discounted price of £206, Ford eBay (coupon) 15% off.

Also needed a jumper wire & jumper wire harness assembly, two parts. For the sliding door undertray, the small one was £86 and the harness assembly was £46.

And Ford diagnosis from £152 to £182 per hour. Paid for 2 hours. That's expensive for a simple diagnosis!

Took it to a local mechanic who does car electrics! Paid to put it on £150.

Could have done with second-hand parts well maybe not!

Repaired or replaced parts with new ford parts from ford ebay store! same price weeks takin. expensive all original new parts could of done with used parts! if in excellent condition! It takes months to find good used parts. See latest updated. Edited 15/Oct/2025
