Hi, we currently own a 2017 Ford Grand CMax 1 litre Eco Boost. The car is due its wet belt replacement being 8 years old and with 68,000 miles on the clock. We booked this in at our local garage and were quoted £1,500.

Since booking the car in the EML light has come on and the garage kindly plugged it in to diagnose the issue. They reported it was a NOX issue and could either be the CAT itself or the sensors.

As you can imagine we are debating whether it is worth spending the £1500 on the wet belt and then be faced with a bill for a new CAT should the sensors not resolve the fault. They have currently cleared the fault and I want to add that the car has not been used very much in the last month. I’m not sure whether it’s the lack of use which has caused this.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
