It's really quite easy, the fuel pipes can be moved enough not to need disconnecting and as long as you use a six sided socket (27mm) there's less chance of it slipping and damaging the plastic cap.

You're right. It was easy. The hardest part was cutting down a 27mm spanner ��. I don't see how you could use a socket as there was no room to get a ratchet into the socket once the socket was fitted onto the plastic cap. Job done in 20 minutes.
