So I’ve just recently purchased the car and a tyre needs replacing. It’s a C max grand titanium 1.6 D

Currently all four tyres are

215/ 50R 17 95W

The label attached to the car by the inside of the drivers door side is attached and gives three options.. 205, 215 & 235.

Kiwi fit tyre checker gives the same size option as the current tyres.

Tyre shopper gives two options, a 205 and a 235.

So I’m a little confused. Now I’ve got a quote from Costco for 4 tyres at 205 size which are half the cost of the 215.

Do you think the car would run fine with a 205?

According to the label your car has the correct tyres for 17 inch wheels.
The 205s are for 16 inch and on a petrol which is a lighter car.

I have just bought a 66 Reg 1.5 TDCI C-Max which is currently fitted with 215/55 R16's but when I was looking on line for replacements, Websites I tried entering the vehicle registration say I should buy 205/55 R16's which are much cheaper.

The label in the first post tells you all you need to know. The heavier diesel gets the 215's. You may invalidate your insurance by using 205's.
