Hi all
New on here so be kind
Anyway I have recently purchased a 2005 Focus Cmax 2ltr tdci Ghia which is brilliant except for
When accelerating in say 2nd gear and dipping clutch to third there is a noticeable twitch in the steering wheel pulling to the right for a split second?
To try to rectify I've had two new front tyre fitted and balanced + wheel alignment
Feels slightly better but still noticeable
I've tried all three settings for the electric steering but no difference?
Tie rods have no movement
Any ideas?
TIA

hi what your expiring could simply be what is called "torque steer" its common on a lot of fords but I would double check the amount of "lift" at the drive shaft inner joints at the gearbox its not uncommon for the diff bearings to be ware causing the drive shafts to "whip",in worse case you will get it to pull to the right violently under heavy acceleration then if you then suddenly shut off the throttle it will pull to the left, but as I said that's in worse case sinario,in which case new bearings may be required

Thanks for your reply
If this was the case would it mean gearbox out to replace bearings or can they be replaced with gearbox in situ?
Cheers
