Hello everyone, we have a 2013 C-max, we have a touring caravan. The problem we have is reversing with the caravan, the chimes drive us nuts & really damage concentration while trying to manoeuvre backwards.

Is there anyway to disable the chimes permanently, through the menu system?

Otherwise I'm going to hard wire a switch to disable the reverse park system (whilst towing).

Any help would be greatly appreciated 馃憤

The Ford approved towbar disables the chime when the trailer plug is fitted, so yours must be an aftermarket towbar.
There must be some connection within the 13 pin plug wiring to identify that the trailer is plugged in, I don't know how, though.
Could it be that the unallocated pin 12 is used?

Our caravan doesn't use the 13 pin plug, just a standard black & grey set. If there's no option in the cars software, I'm going to hard bypass the sensors.

There's always the button on the dash, although I don't know if there is one with rear only sensors. I have had them front and back on my last 2 (the first one had dealer fitted aftermarket ones) so there's always been a switch.

There is no switch, hence why I'm asking for alternative suggestions
