Hope that you dont have this problem 62 plate grand c max auto from Bristol street motors.45000 on the clock.After 64000 started having problems with the gearbox.In auto mode when it changed down into 2nd instead of going gently into 1st on a rolling stop it would slam into 1st st about 10mph causing it to rev like mad and stick in first.Then had to stop the engine and restart to free it.Drove it for a year like this but drove in manual mode and as it changed down on its own as it entered 2nd gear kept flicking it back up to ask it to keep in 2nd this stopped it from slamming down into first and it would gently then go into 1st and not stick.Thou is this not a solution to the problem it is a way you can drive it until you have enough money to get it sorted.The problem was the
PowerShot transmission has plastic spacers in the dual set clutch which over time mine being 64000 miles became brittle and disintegrated into the gearbox causing this problem.Long and short of it get rid.The garage I took it to was auto transmissions huddersfield .The technician called Lee was great.Money wise no change out of £2360 but piece of mind. He's got another 3 next week c max , kuga! One has only done 41000! So buyer beware with this shit gearbox.Going to trade in in 2 years for a Honda auto.ps They have never had a Honda in with transmission probs.Hope this helps anyone with similar probs.peace out.
