I have a 64 ref prestige diesel cmax. The power point in the boot has never worked. I am trying to change the fuse but every one I put in just blows. I unhooked the battery out a fuse in and it blew as soon as I connected the battery. Has anyone got any ideas on what causes that. I’m no electrician so sorry if it’s a silly question. TIA

The fuse blows because there is a dead short either in the supply wire to the power point or the power point itself is shorted inside. By power point you do mean the 12 volt dc socket I assume?
Your next move would be to look inside the power point and make sure its not got silver paper or some other metalic rubbish stuck inside it, if thats clear then remove the plastic side panel and take the 2 wires off the power point and retry the fuse, if it still blows then the wiring is faulty, if not the power point is at fault. This is assuming the fuse only controls just the one item.
