Hi all,

Just purchased an 04 CMax 2.0tdci ghia

Loverly car - my wife was dead set on getting one of these particular models, so she is happy....

....until yesterday when the car didn't want to go at all - loss of power and the Engine System Fault came up on the display...

I am wondering if this could be covered on the warranty I got from the dealer??

Any ideas what usually causes this and is there an easy fix?

Other than that, we are VERY happy with this car.

The garage reckon it is a Fuel Additive Module - which, they said, needs changing every 70k miles.....

....me thinks the warranty company ain't gonna pay up!!

Any thoughts?

OK - just got back from the garage - the warranty company are doing some investigation and have yet to agree to pay....

I presume they will try and duck out of paying - here are some more details.....

Fault Code P2584
Fuel Additive Module

Cost......

Fluid £160.17 plus VAT
Module £222.70 plus VAT

Supposed to be done every 75000 miles - trouble is, this car has only done 64000.......

Any comments / thoughts and advice would be most warmly welcomed..... :)
