I have a 56 CMax 1.8TDi ( still under warranty ) & have noticed handbrake not holding very well. At recent dealer service discs were OK etc. Dealer says can do a £65 brake check as can't adjust handbrakes these days, wheras others have said that probable cause is the cable ( and is a repair under warranty ).
Would welcome some advice.

slacken hand brake adjuster right off @ handbrake lever (adjuster located beneath boot) make sure handbrake levers upon calipers are right on the stops , if not lever back with screwdriver. Pump foot brake 3 or 4 times , adjust handbrake accordingly (deep 10 mm socket reqd) Hope this helps . Chris

Thanks Chris - yes this does help - so handbrake can be adjusted & now I know how. PS my other halfhas reminded me we've got a 2.0 L diesel not 1.8 as I originally posted - in view of your reply I'm a bit disappointed in my dealer's responseabout adjustment.

Thanks again ....
