54 plate 2.0 TDCi with the 6-speed gearbox.

How easy is it to change the gearbox oil on one of these things? Has anyone else done it? Any pointers on where to find the drain/fill-up plugs, any problems in getting access?

I did notice the post here, although unfortunately there's no mention on how to actually do it.

Thanks!

I don't know that there is anyway of changing the whole content of the gearbox oil. I think all they expect to be done is to check the level by filling it up till oil comes out of the filler hole on the side

I.e. the correct level is the bottom of the filler hole

Hi dk,
Sorry for the delay - having problems with the internet connection.
To change gearbox oil: remove the air filter box to get at the filler plug on top of the gearbox near the selector cables. Remove the splash cover under the engine to see two more plugs on the right hand side near the front axle. The top one is the level and the bottom one is the drain. If you need me to be more specific just call.
Regards,
