Is it easy to replace the front brakes pads? Any tips? Anything I need to be careful with? It has been a long time since I replaced front pads.

Nothing too scary, don`t bet the pads from Ford though. If you have an independant soares shop near you try them but also get a price from Halfords. You could also try
www.passionauto.co.uk
They do some good deals & if you want some Very good pads get Green Stuff pads. These are a bit more expensive, but lastages and don`t `fade` after heavy use. They also leave less brake dust on your wheels.
Good luck.

I am using the EBC Green stuff pads and discs on both front and back they are great. They stop the car so quickly and with great confidences. I really tested them on Monday. :-D Mine do produce a lot of dust though, but as long as the car is good at stopping that is all that matters.

You will need what Ford would describe as a 'special tool' which is no more than a 7mm allen key. The size is a little unsual but will normally come in a socket drive set. Otherwise you can get the standard cranked allen key with long handle in 7mm from somewhere like Halfords.
