What are the symptoms of a failing accelerator pedal sensor, Car is a 2007 1.8tdci. Today mine seemed to stick, when stationary if you apply a bit of throttle then take your foot off it hangs at just over 1000rpm before dropping down to normal tickover, also it seems lumpy at tickover.

I've never known a fly by wire throttle peddle go faulty before and in any case I'm sure that they have built in redundancies to prevent them from sticking or applying throttle for safety reasons, maybe it's the ecu keeping the revs a little high to prevent it from stalling because of the lumpy tick over.
Is the service up to date? I believe if you cure the lumpy tick over you will cure your rev problem.
Good luck.
