Hi all i did an air filter change this morning and then forgot to plug the cable to the sensor in the air pipe. Had a drive and noticed a little less umph than normal. Oops i remebered the cable as i was pulling up i noticed the engine light ( the orange one ) had illuminated so i thought as soon as i plug in the lead it will go off. Guess what car drives like normal but the light is still on. Is this a warning that a fault occured or is there still a fault? Anybody had similar? By the way the air filter was black and horrid.

I suspect that a fault code will be stored probably related to fuel mixture
It may be that after having driven again you've returned all the measurements to within their tolerances so the light goes out
