hi all we have a 2.0 tdci ghia and was wondering if any body has fitted one of those noisy dump valves that you hear on someboy racer cars as i want to be 18 again and have one on the wifes car. just to see all the looks from the boy racers would be great. and can any one tell me if it makes a difference and what it does?
thanks for not laughing to much

Unless you fit a larger turbo then you'll only lose power. Idea is that the turbo speeds up and then when you, say, change gear the turbo is still spinning but as the throttle is closed the valve then dumps the excess.

I'm 19 and been driving C-Maxs since I was 17 and I've never had a dump valve

i dont think you can fit an atmospheric dump valve to a diesel and the car run correctly or it workonly a petrol car with a turbo fitted.
i have used a recirculating valve on a petrol before and still got the whoooosh but i had to have a induction kit fitted and wasnt as loud
