Can anybody help, please?

I have an 07 1.8tdci. I am of the old school who changes oil and filter at 6,000 miles. Having recently retired (and in the present climate) I need to try and save some money. In the 'old days' I always used to change my own oil and filter but have not done it for many years so have not touched modern cars. Is it a practical proposition to do this myself with no ramp or pit?

Thanks for any help.

Filter should be on the diesels as (if like the 1.6TDCI) it comes out from the top
Look the the RH side just below the intake air pipework for a black round container like shape with a large nut fitted to the top

As to the filter not sure
The question of DIY oil change on the diesels has just come up in another thread where someone has just done it

Yep the oil change and filter is not too bad. Ramps may help to get to the sump if you are 15 odd stone like me!
