Hi, i recently had a fault with my crank position sensor the AA diagnosed on the roadside and a approved garage did the repair, my question is does the clutch need to be removed in order to get to the sensor on this model, the garage said they had to do that and then tried to get me to pay £400 for a new clutch because mine was looking a bit worn and may go?
As it happened the clutch has just gone now less than a week after getting the car back.

I have a 2009 tdci 1.8 and it's at the back of the engine, I don't think that they changed the location but I'm not 100% sure.

Would that require the clutch to be pulled to get to it, i find it hard to believe that a car manufacturer would put a sensor in a position that difficult to get too.

No mine is on the outside I cant really imagine any ford needing a gearbox or clutch removal to get to it?
