I have a 2006 cmax. In 2017 at 67000 miles I had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel fitted. 2 years and 10000 miles later it needs replacing. The mechanic says it must have been a poor quality part, but we have no comeback on supplier as it is more than 12months. He is willing to replace it with no labour cost and he assures us that it will be with a good quality part, we still have to pay £560 for the part having paid £880 for the job 2 years ago. Why has it only lasted 2 years? What fails on them?

Do you know if it's definitely the clutch plate that's worn? My 08 1.8 petrol (without the DMF) only needed a new cylinder @ 75000 miles but the whole thing was changed because it was being stripped down anyway. Could yours be just the cylinder?
