Hello spudgun
Could there be some scoring on thedisc?I had my 1st service last oct and they pointed out that i had this on my rear discs-car only had 6k onthe clock. They reckon it wascaused by hand brake being left on for long periods in damp conditions! Now i just leave car in gear if not using for a few days. Hope it'snothing to worry about.

Hi Spudgun

You can feel if the disc is badly scored with your fingers. If it is get both side skimmed. Cost about £ 50 for the pair or less. Plus New pads.

Hope its that simple.

Sounds like it could well be the rear brakes.
The rear caliper is the 'floating' type and it's a common for them to seize up.
You'll soon tell if the outer pads are wearing quicker than the inner ones.
