On my old 07 plate Focus Cmax 2.0 Ghia (I miss terribly due to mot failure, especially electric handbrake and cruise control 馃槶) to open the bonnet I turned the key left then right as shown by keyhole. I have just changed to a 57 plate 1.8 titanium. I couldn't open the bonnet. The garage told me I need to push down on the bonnet while turning key. It works although can take a few attempts. I can't believe this is a new feature on the MKII. Due to the fresh look of the front area I'm suspecting it has had a shunt. Can anyone advise if there is a way, without replacing the whole lock and mechanism, to make this open as I believe it should i.e. without pushing the bonnet down?

Hi there, the problem with these locks ls the plastic cross piece that attaches the lock assembly to the latch itself. similar to this, I'm sure they sell an upgrade part for this on flee bay.
