My 06 Ghia is going back to the dealer for the THIRD time because the I have ~Limited EPB Function~ thankfully though the car is still under warranty.
Thanks to you peeps on here they are going to look at the problem with the EPB and also I'm getting them to check out the alternator as they have said that it can be replaced under warranty and I'll get a courtesy car as well...
I intend to print off as many of the problems and possible solutions to the stupid thing as I can and will hand them to them hopefully I can get this sorted once and for all.....
Cheers guys.
The wife did ask if they could lend us an S-Max, I fancy a blast in the Kuga, But the garage laughed so it looks like it will be a Fiesta...
At least its not a KA which they had as coutesy cars last month.
Did your battery light come on as well as your limited epb function. If so its a definite alternator. Loads of threads on here to explain it print a few and go armed. Good luck
I don't think the battery light has come on, but we do get a whinning sound which seems to have gradually got worse lately, and reading all the other threads about the EPB and Alternator it seems that some people have noticed it as well.
I have printed out loads of stuff and will be handing it all over to the guys are the garage so they at least get an idea of what things to check.
When I spoke to the receptionist I suggested that all the technical guys join sites like this, becuase that way they could at least cross ref symptoms customers are having with others who might have already had it and had the problem resolved.
Right finally got the car back and typically the warning never came on while the car was in the garage for almost a week...
They said they plugged into the diagnostics machine several time and as NO fault message was displayed they did NOTHING (they are not allowed to replace anything unless they get a valid fault code telling them what is wrong......) So the car is back
Problem now is they seem to have have done something to the drivers seat asit now feels like it is moving forward (only under heavy braking) so I reckon the so and so's have broken a fixing bracket so its going back in on Monday to get them to look at it AGAIN...
Fingers crossed they fix it.
Thank goodness my 13 year old Escort doesn't give me as much grief.....
