Hi Stu, No need to file down, just insert a slim of approx thickness for the required angle in the step where it comes to rest,

MIKE TANGO, you the MAN...!!!!

wasn't too sure what you meant when i read your reply last night but having looked at the car this morning it made perfect sense..so obvious..!!! made myself a small ally block and glued in place against stop, re-assembled and voila...

that arm rest has been bugging me for about a year and never occured to me to strip it down and fix it...

many thanks mate

ive broken mine where it rotates on the post coming out the seat. any help appreciated
sorry, just seen your post! (don't seem to get notifications from this forum?)

tbh Zakr, i tried several times to fix it but it always broke again...
what i did was remove it, cut the metal away from the seat and fit a plastic cap to cover hole in cloth...
or keep an eye out for matching seat on ebay (check armrest is not broken though!)

Well, I tried this repair today and failed! The alloy casing has cracked on the housing where the teeth are hence it not engaging and locking into position where I want it. Surprised there are none for sale on eBay as any would do as can just change the zip off cover over. Will try a breakers yard when I can be bothered, they might have a knackered seat and be happy to just sell the arm rest.
