Hi guys
I have searched the forum and seen people have had my issue but nobody seems to have come up with a solution on the threads.
I had the air con regassed a month ago and not used the car much since, driving the car today with the a/c on there was a hissing noise when driving but it stopped when the car wasnt moving. Also with the a/c set to Lo, there was colder air coming through the passenger side vents than the driver side vents. Seen a few threads on this but no solutions so a bit of a common issue.
Having had it regassed recently, I would have expected a colder air than what was coming through the vents today as it was barely cold.
The coldest air was coming out of the vents just below the stereo and above the climate controls.
With the forecasted heatwave on the way, it would be good to get this sorted ASAP

Hi Gareth,
You say that you are not getting much cold air coming through the vents. First things first, may I suggest that you check to see whether the system is working/ is holding the recent charge. What should happen is that, when the AC switch is turned on, it should trigger the compressor, and pressure up the system . If it won't turn - then (apart from a mechanical of electric fault) you may find that there is a leak in the system, and the gas has disappeared . This happened to me on my 11 plate - there was a hole in the condenser. Not sure what model you've got, in my situation, you could see the belt driven clutch in action or not. Assuming you can't see yours, then you should be able to hear it working or not. You may also get a momentary drop in revs, when you flick the AC switch, if it is working. It's best to get a little assistance here - one man sitting in the car, working the switch, one man under the bonnet watching and listening.
Hopefully, your compressor is working - in which case continue on with the Forum . If it's not working, then you probably need to get it checked by a specialist - they will tell you whether or not you've a leak . Halfords will charge it for you for about £60, but I'm not sure they are equipped for leak detection.
Hope it goes well for you
