hi all
have just had the car 2.0tdci ghia towed back to ford as it went into limp home mode.
it came up with Acceleration reduced and Engine system fault, there were no warning lights on the dash it just stopped( so now the wife hatesit).
hopefully the warrenty that i got from ford when we bought it will cover all costs and lucky for me the warrenty we have with fordruns out in2 weeks so fingers crossed. the car was goingin for a service and mot anyway today(sat) so instead of that they can fix it.
has anyone else had this fault come up?

update
have just got the car back and the problem was a throttle sensor which seems to have come away from where every it was meant to be. of course it was not under warrenty that part.

with EDC (Electronic diesel control) you don't have a throttle cable just a sensor that monitors the position of the accelrator pedal.
The ECU compares the value of this signal with what the fuel map says it should be for that engine speed and alters the position of the fuel pump "rackk" accordingley
