Hi. I was driving my car a few weeks ago and as I turned a bend I saw a lump of concrete in the road I couldn't avoid it and ended up running over it. (I know should have seen it earlier) Looked underneath and couldn't see any damage. Later in the journey the service message flashed in in the dashboard. As it was due a service didn't think anything of it, duly booked it in to be serviced. Now the trip computer is not working properly readings when they are there are all wrong, after a minute or so of driving they all disappeare and leave lines. I mentioned this to the garage and they say I have a bent tank strap which is pushing the bottom of the tank up and this maybe the problem. They say I can leave it and live with it or change the tank but it may have damaged the pump and sender. The question is would it be possible to straighten the tank strap? And is there a way to inspect the pump and sender without dropping the tank?
