I sure hope this isn't the way this car is going to be!

I started the car this morning and there was a clicking sound this morning first thing(it was cold outside) which increased as I increased the revs, but which went away after a while.
Then tonight, outside our local Halfords, I started the car and heard a belt squealing, saw the revs dropping, but that went away also after a few seconds.

Has anyone heard of these faults on a 1.6 petrol 2005 c-max engine?

Thanks.

from cold it sounds like the oil getting to the top of the engine , to pressurise the hydraulic tappets. Are you aware of the last time the oil and filter was carried out, and if it was , was it the correct spec 5W 30 Zetec ? I have the 1600 petrol 2008 my and am meticulous with the oil and filter changes, often changing the oil and filter every 5-6000 miles and changing the oil every 3000 miles . Hope this helps , but this wouldnt explain the belt squealing ???

It hasn't happened again since. I just hope this AA 5star warranty is worth the money I paid for it!
