I am fitting a tow bar in a couple of weeks time & am thinking of fitting some parking sensors at the same time. So can someone tell me if you fit them in the black bit at the bottom of the bumber or in the coloured bit of the bumber as i don't know if to buy silver or black sensors. THANKS STEVE

There is an explanation in ETis about sensors and placement, something about heights and angles needed to detect things.

If you do get some fitted just make sure that you install an override off for when you a reversing with the van. That bleep would do my nut in. lol. As kevmond has highlighted they do need to be at set hights and distances depeding on the kit, a bit of homework into different kits could make all the difference to the placement on the rear. You might find one that could be installed into the black area.

My factory fit sensors are placed at the bottom of the rear bumper on the unpainted plastic area, this area has a slight angle which makes the sensors face up slightly.
I have had a towbar fitted too, which does not interfere with the sensors either.  The fitter who did the towbar placed the socket for the electrics just under the bumper which keeps it out of the way.

Hope this helps.
