EcoBoost petrol engines

The new C-MAX is among the first to offer the new 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine. This turbocharged petrol engine delivers 20% improved fuel efficiency, 20% lower CO2 emissions and 20% better performance. The responsive performance of a large capacity engine, combined with the size, weight and fuel economy of a much smaller unit, means a more exhilarating driving experience with a lower impact on the environment.

The next generation Duratorq TDCi diesel engines

Award-winning TDCi Duratorq diesel engines have also been upgraded, achieving significant improvements in CO2 emissions, helped by the additive and maintenance-free Diesel Particulate Filter. Available in 140 PS and 163 PS versions, both deliver improvements of up to 10% in fuel economy in addition to advances in power, performance and quieter running.

Smoother, fuel-saving gear shifts with PowerShift automatic transmission

The new C-MAX will also feature the option of Ford’s latest high efficiency PowerShift, six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. It delivers a seamless driving experience, which can also improve fuel economy by up to 10%, when compared to a conventional automatic transmission system. You'll also enjoy lightning-fast gear changes without any loss in the flow of power. And if you want more involvement, manual mode lets you change gear with just a flick of the gearshift.

Hill Launch Assist

The new C-MAX and Grand C-MAX also makes tricky hill starts a thing of the past with Hill Launch Assist, which keeps the wheels locked until you apply the accelerator (only available with ESP).

Torque vectoring control

Fitted as standard, the system balances engine torque between the front wheels to suit the road surface driving conditions. The result? More grip, more precise handling and greater control – even on low grip or wet surfaces.
