New C-MAX safety information

The new C-MAX has a full complement of advanced safety features, both active and passive. And with the Intelligent Protection System (IPS), which keeps a constant watch over the vehicle, they’re all ready to spring into action in a fraction of a second. So you and your passengers can relax, knowing you have a comprehensive safety system to keep you safe and secure.

Advanced airbags
The comprehensive package of six airbags incorporates state-of-the-art technology. In addition to full-size front and side airbags for driver and front passenger,* new C-MAX also includes side curtain airbags for the front and the rear.

Seat belts with pre-tensioners and ISOFIX
Front seat belts are equipped to spring into action 5-10 milliseconds before airbags are activated to take up any slack between the wearer and the belt.

The outside rear seats include ISOFIX mounts for child seats

Advanced Steering Column
The steering column has been specially designed to further absorb the energy of any impact and collapse directly away from the driver into the dashboard.
* Note: A child seat should never be placed in the front passenger seat when the Ford vehicle is equipped with an operational front passenger’s airbag. The safest place for children is properly restrained on the rear seat
